is al die 4.8GL's manual en is al die 4.8GRX'e auto?

Nico(timken) het ook n manual 4.8 sover ek weet, weet nie of dit GL of GRX is nie?
In SA all GLs (Petrol & diesel) were manual. GRX was/is automatic. Petrol GL was dropped and only diesel GL remained.

GRX pre-face lift comprised of the following:
Leather seats, electric seat adjustments, sun roof and climate control.
Between 2002 and 2004 the Diesel models were either GL or GRX, but both manual (there were a few autos in 2002 though).
The 2004 3 liter diesel model that I had (later converted to Petrol) was a GRX manual

My 4.5GRX is manual.
My understanding is that all 4.8 GL were manual only?

Yo Philip: It is more than GL being manual only, a lot of the luxuries of the GRX also not available on the GL.
Sunroof
Air con front AND rear
Leather seats
power outlet on the centre console rear
and some basic finishing off
I am happy with the GL specs on iNyathi [4.2 GL Patrol 2000] BUT I sometimes wish I still had the comforts of AGAROB [3.0 Di GRX Patrol 2002]

GRX usually more pricey than same model GL Patrol [although a lot of sellers try to sell their GL what another is asking for an GRX ]

Do you have a budget and wish list what it is you want on your Patrol?

Thanks for your advise. I'm starting to be more open minded about the GRX. Wishlist is a well looked after Patrol with mileage below 200k KM, ideally with a few upgrades, service history and an absolute max price of R200k but that would have to be for an exceptional car.

Up until the Y61 face-lift came out, there seems to have been some "mixing and matching" in spec levels. I have seen older GRX with manual boxes, and GL's with some GRX features. But I have never seen a pre-face-lift manual 4.8.

After the face-lift, the specs seem to be more set in stone.
All manual 4.8's I have sen have been face-lift GL's with few or no optional extras.
Mag ons ons kenniskry met lekkerkry aanhoukry.

Piet, I agree the specs became more fixed. At least the Petrol models since face lift.
But just confuse a little, over the last year or three, the 3D CRD started sporting leather seats, climate control and a proper radio/sound system.
