Hello all, below is the intro template suggested for new members and should tell you a bit about me.
We have not had a 4x4 for a couple of years now and have been thinking about getting back into it for a while. My weapon of choice is a Patrol for all of the reasons which are frequently discussed here - in a nutshell bulletproof drive trains and engines and of course SFA.
I have been considering whether to buy new or 2nd hand and am still undecided. Debating mainly 6 year warranty and service plan versus used market prices versus actual depreciation of vehicle and extras. Decision time though, happy to hear members thoughts if you are willing to share them.
Planning to take look at the ones for sale on autrotrader and the for sale section on the weekend if the sellers are around.

Hi Markham
Welcome
This is a good buy.

These cars drop in value quickly, but you get lots of bang for your buck. And the 4.8 does not break easily.

Welcome Markham
Happy hinting for your Patrol. There are very good second hand Patrols on the market for very good prices, so you will save quite a bit if you buy a second hand one

Welcome Markham.
I have always believed that you lose more than you gain when buying new, as they will almost always weasel out of their warranty obligations.

Welcome
That one on Community seems to be a very good buy. low mileage, and what can you buy for under 300K, as opposed to new leave's you with another 300k for upgrades
