Zip Fixing with a candle

Hi
I received my roof top tent from Peter (Miner) yesterday. It is unbelievable to receive something for free that you have been budgeting for for a wile.
One of the small problems on the tent was the zip did not want to work to lekker after a few years of service in sand and rain. I once watched a video on Youtube (can't find it now, will look for it) that showed how to fix a zip with a candle. You kneed to run the candle all along the zip, lubricating it. It works best when the zip is open and you can run the candle along the zipper teeth. I have done this with a few tent zips and did it again last night on the RTT zip. Worked 100% and it is fixed again. Zipping like a new zipper, OK almost like a new one. This work on any zipper that takes a bit of hammering in dust/sand. The guy in the video was a bike overlander and most of the top boxes close with zippers. They do this so that at the end of the day they can open the boxes again.
I thought I will share this with you because it has helped me allot through the years. Nothing more iterating than struggling with a stuck zipper.
Cheers
