Hi Guys. If You want to destroy your paintwork, its the trail for you! The trail has not been ridden/maintained for possibly months! The protea bushes make my patrol look small. The vegatation on the middelmannetjie is higher than my bonnet in places not to mention the sides(protea trees tower above my patrol), a suzuki jeep would be to wide for this trail!!! The trail started with a "NICE' climb and turning around or reversing is not a option for the first section. Further along the trail, we had to get out and move trees out the way from time to time. All five vehicles are scratched beyond 'buffing' and some have dents along the sides as the protea "trees" scraped along. We only did route 2, about 150meters into route 1, I called it quits and we turned around and went to lick our wounds! Gave Route 3 & 4 a miss. I have to add: the mountains, proteas and scenary are breathtaking! If maintained the trail would be awesome, specially in the wet!
