Hi Guys,
I have this 'tradition' that I try to honor as religiously as possible. That is, to visit Rust De Winter Dam every Thursday night of the week and camp. Tonight I am the only person here. Where else in the world will you be able to get in your car 16:00 in the middle of the week, drive 60km's and chill in relative wilderness. No artificial sounds, no people, no nothing. I like camping right at the end of the trail. I saw 4 crocodiles since entering this afternoon. Two of them were between 2-3 meters, 1 was a mother of crocodile between 4-5 meters and the last one just swam by head peaking out. Last time I saw guys wading in the water while fishing. Some of them a good 3-5 meters into the water with water up to the thighs. They must be looney or have a watery grave death wish. This place is crawling with Crocs. PS: A guy got grabbed this passed Tuesday when walking into the water to free his lure. Last year another oak got pulled out of his tent by his legs while still in his sleeping bag. A gamefarm close-by must have lions because they have been calling all night. It just makes your heart beat warmer. At least I have a rooftop-tent, crocs don't climb ladders.

Last camping spot on the flats. Not hearing or seeing any hippos. Are they still around?

There are still hippos. One just rocked up. Literally out of nowhere.
