Montague pass

Post by Alex Roux »

We drove down to Mosselbay a week ago.

When driving down from Uniondale's side towards George, rather than taking the Outenikwa pass, one can also turn off towards Herold on your left and take the older Montague pass.
It is in actual fact a short cut and more scenic.

If you're heading up it, watch out for MTB'ers coming down from the top at speed. It's such an awesome downhill, "they" sometimes forget about the stop lever a bit

Hi Alex,

When we were down there over Easter I rode that pass several times. Much nicer in a Trol than Outeniqua in a platkar.

There's also some nice history about the old Toll House at the bottom.

I loved it!
