Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

I had this drawer system from Frontrunner in my previous Patrol. If installed as far to the left as possible, it will allow you to access the smaller drawers, but it is VERY close and might touch the door a slight bit. If you wish, I can post a photo of it installed when I get home tonight.

Also had this system in my Disco 3, No they are the mini ammo boxes and are about twice the price as the bigger ones only place I could find them was at Front Runner think they where about R320 each and the packing system was about R10000 It was bloody heavy that is why I sold my one and built one of my own that I could remove by myself!

So I was in Pupkewitz (Namibia's Builders Warehouse) last week-end and started counting out the different connectors I would need. (My son unpacking them as the same time). Eventually got them all with some spare when I discovered they don't even stock 25mm aluminum square section. Only 24mm... But I digress.

Yes that is the plan. I need to source fridge slides as most places are closed week-ends when I am in the city.

So this is what I had in mind, your photo is a great help, gives me something to work around.

I made up my own two drawers which could be removed. I personally find that most ammo boxes are not very efficient space wise.
Frontrunner also make box drawers for it (see photo) but I cannot currently find them on their site.
I agree with IanT, it is very big, heavy and awkward to move.

I agree, and they loose the clips....

BUT they are rugged and will hold heavy stuff. I keep my recovery and tool kit in one... that after it is full I can bearly lift it up. It has things like the mechanism for a hi-lift jack in it. I usually set in on the ground during a recovery so I have easy access to all my kit. So 2 x narrow ammo boxes would be great.

I was going to get some drawers from Peter but changed my mind and developed it around some steel army ammo boxes.

Biggles,.. Not 100% sure of the process and effectiveness BUT... there is a way of changing the hinges/connecting arm of the left and/or right rear doors so that they open wider. Saw it on Patrol4x4.com on a member rides build thread.

Perhaps that would also help matters.
