Yip, which means Garmin only at the moment, does it not? Even a nĂ¼vi 200 could use T4A as a mapset, but TomTom can not.

Glo my daar verskil ek wyd met jou, n Engel of n NL vrieskas is n baie beter belegging as n GPS , BAIE BETER

Koos thanks for your honest reply, Kamera's het ek alles wat ek nodig het van 18mm tot 600mm F4. So ek sal n goeie kaart kry " Michelin " blykbaar die beste. Freezer yes I would love one but....

Die Voetspore praatjie was regtig great , it Starts on 23 October 18h00 on either TV2 or TV3. According to Johan Badenhorst the Garmin 276 is the ultimate, Nuvi not bad but more for city use. He actually have both in his vehicle. Even though they now use Toyota he still have the greatest respect for the PATROL.

Jules, sorry way OT, but would love to hear their honest opinion about the Patrol's and of course why the change to Toy. Did it have anything to do with the doodsakker incident?:

Hi John, I think Stefan summed it well. The other thing that Johan said was that the Navara and Pathfinder was not really up to the task. The Patrol is an awesome beast in his opinion but we all know that. Die " Doodsakker" had nothing to do with it he said the rocks were just impassable no vehicle would have crossed over. This year when they got there the sand had completely covered the rocks and it was a highway.

Nissan should have stuck with the Patrols on these trips, one thing he did mention was that the Tdi on the Patrol bakkie was just a sticker the difference is so small that it is more a sales gimmick. They had no problems on the 3.0 diesel Patrols regarding overheating etc, just fuel filters getting dirty due to unclean diesel

I have recently bought the Oregon 300 and researched it against the Nuvi 500. As my main application is for using the GPS is off road it was a clear winner!
I have used a Garmin 3 Plus which finally started to pack up after 10 years! Fortunately I managed to down load all my waypoint history onto the 300. I use the 300 from time to time to find places and it works perfectly ( I actaully hate those talking GPS as you cant listern to your music !!)

If you need more info let me know. But in a nutshell the features on the 300 for 4x4 use put it in a different league to the 500.
I bought mine from Tech Shop

Thanks Steve, I am more pro towards the Oregon than the Nuvi. Do the Oregon have the "breadcrumb" facility? Can it also be stuck to the windscreen? sorry all the questions
