Coopers STT in Cape Town

Post by Izak »

Top of the morning to you Gentlemen

One of my "better" characteristics is that I will listen to all the good advice that I can gather en then decide I will do the opposite. So thanx to Tinus for all his efforts in getting me a set of Goodyear Wranglers at a great price but even though I know all the "right" answers I have decided to purchase the 305/70/16 Coopers STT in Cape Town.

Why??? I ask myself and that is a fair question and I think that is part of my flawed personality. I do not like doing what the majority of people do, maybe that is why I jumped out of a serviceable aircraft and drive a Patrol and not a Land Cruiser.

Ok, one of the reasons is that it looks SEXY (My wife does not understand that a tyre can look sexy but then neither does Chad look that sexy to me) :rolling:

I have read a lot on the Aussi sites and there are some of their members that have 305's on standard rims and standard Patrols and if you do not engage in serious off roading they do not catch that much on the body.

Now the next step in the process is to get the tyres to Gauteng. Anybody coming to Gauteng in the near future that has space for 5 passengers? :helpsign: :helpsign:

The photo's below are of a comparison between the standard and BIG tyres, after big tyres, before and then the tyres that I bought.

Morning all,

I did the same - put Coopers STT's on my GQ. I fully agree, it looks sexy AND works very well offroad - enjoy.

Hi guys what did the Coopers go for as I think they look great and fill the wheel space. I am not yet convinced that 285/75/16 will look good as mine has a Camil suspension in and stands high. The advice was that if I go too big , that I will loose power and increase consumption and my spedo will be out. Please help me with this decision.

Nico.
My beskeie :mytwocents:
Brandstof verbruik gemiddeld 8.6 km/l of
11.76 l/100km teen Speedo gemiddeld van 110 km/h.
met 285/75R16 Speedo 120 km/h Gps 119.4 km/h, Speedo 60 km/h Gps 60 km/h. Brandstof verbruik gemiddeld 7.4 km/l of

I noticed that with 265/75/16's fitted my troll speedo / Gps is out by about 5-6kms/hr 120 vs 115 but the actual kms done on the speedo trip meter is the same as the Gps? I'm looking at fitting 285/75/16 so will think the troll is getting heavier on fuel.....

:blonde: Thanks guys, mine is a 4.8 and it seems the 285/75/16 is the way to go. Some of the guys have these on and are happy. The costs seem also to play a role.

Sal seker so teen Maandag die bande in JHB he so ek sal foto plaas sodra dit op is.
