Spare Wheel Cover
Morning guys,
I wonder if somebody can point me in the right direction? I have a 4.8 GRX GU. It came from the factory with the large silver grey plastic cover over the spare wheel (the locking cover). The spare wheel also has its own independent locknut on it. I recently purchased one of those Thule bicycle racks which mounts on the tow bar. It seems to work very well with the "ugly Bosal" tow bar that bolts to the point where the recovery ring is normally located, especially if one drops the actual tow ball down to the lowest point. However, even when doing that, the plastic spare wheel cover gets in the way to a degree – it is difficult to operate the locking handle on the bicycle rack and also, the vertical frame presses up against the spare wheel cover. The cover itself is quite a bit larger than the wheel and I found that removing the cover solves all the problems. However, I would still like some sort of a relatively tight fitting canvas cover or similar for my spare wheel. What are my best options in this regard and where would I find it?
All input and advice much appreciated.
Cheers,
Clem

Re: Spare Wheel Cover
Taunotent can also make you one (custom designed). They are next to the N12 between Germiston and Edenvale.

Re: Spare Wheel Cover
Thank you Carel. I did enquire but a plain black one with the word "PATROL" in silver lettering per the OEM one is a bit more than R1.5k - which seems a bit much for me. I think I may just order a plain generic black one off one of the other links for about R500. Probably makes more sense.

Re: Spare Wheel Cover
Clem... .you need a rock band on that cover !!!..... You can't call it Led Zeppelin, cause If I ever get a grey 4.8, then that name is already registered to me......hahahaha. So you can have anything else....
