Malcolm, the issues are as follows:
1) Especially when used at the front, the stiffness of the rubber bushes at the top prevent one from moving the socket out of the way of the ball when the socket is disconnected, so the socket smacks into the ball when articulating. It's less of a problem at the rear as the links are longer there.

2) The units fill up with mud, making them difficult to re-connect.

3) Most problematic though, at the rear, under heavy articulation the ball hooks above the plate on which the top end of the link is mounted. When the suspension tries to level out, this causes damage to the sway bar and it's brackets on the axle.

Just want to add that, for the front end, the mark 1 version is still available, and although it is a little more fiddly, it is proven.

For the rear end, i am working on a new solution.
