Post by Tinus lotz »

Hey guys I got a tire pressure monitor from my friends for my Bday and are very impressed ...........
It is the tipe that works on replaccing the valve inside the tire
I have the one for 4 weels and works like a chaarm
It gives pressure and temp
Comes with bracket for windscreen and very easy to install
It gets fitted to porshce caenne as standerd and has a colour display
Alows 25% up or down from normal setting and gives alarm when pressure goes up or down
Takes 30 seconds to change setting ffor sand ect
Senders battery works for 7 years and spare can be programed in very quickly
He is getting some more in a week or so and is going to sell them for R1800
Let me know if you want any
I had a look at what's avalable and this one is way better than any on the market

I will post some better pictures once I have installed my own set.

Just some additional info: Friend Marius (the guy importing them) has been running a set in his own car for about 6 months now. In that time he has done trips to Bots and Moz, and so far all is working well. The unit displays battery voltage (Marius has his connected to his dual battery, as an additional check on that batterie's condition) as well as readings for each wheel. This can be either pressure or temperature, or it can cycle between them. However, no matter what is on the monitor, a change in tire pressure of more than 25% from setpoint, or a rapid change in pressure, or a temperature above setpoint, or voltage dropping below setpoint will trigger an alarm.

It does not have an off-road mode, but in my opinion this is not important, as I do not always use the same pressure for off-road use anyway, and it is pretty simple to change any of the setpoint values.

There is also a unit available for six-wheel applications, and spare sender units can be sourced seperately.

Hi Tinus

I have been looking at these monitors, one question can you inflate and deflate without having to remove sensors
just as you would normally and do you have to reset the parameters afterwards

Yes, Savuti, the sender unit is inside the rim.

The valve is effectively a normal valve on the outside of the wheel, and a standard valve spanner works on it.

You would need to re-program after changing pressures, or else it will keep sounding an alarm, but the programming is pretty quick and easy.
