Holy S%#t what do those things weigh.
Put bigger tires on, then you don't have to worry soooo much.

Hi Rocstompa

I would go with galvanising, but not powder coating. Powder coating chips pretty easily and cannot be touched up.
My personal preference would be galvanizing, and then you get a paintable rubber coating, unfortunately I can't remember the stuff's name, or bitumen underbody sealant.

Cheers
Peter

Before I could stop them they sent it for powder coating, I will have to check later what I want to do if they chip too badly. As long as they work I'll be happy as they are going to be tested.

Assume you will have to remove your running boards in order to fit these? Send a pic of them fitted, I like the angle at the ends. It gives them a nice rounded off look. Did you use boiler pipe?
A good chroming would also have looked just as nice, should be fairly resistant to chips as well if done properly. Maybe your powder coating does the trick.

Believe me with the 4,5 and 35's the fuel bill was the same as 33's. I would imagine the 4.8 would be the same!!
Patrols were made for 35's, anything below just does not look right.
