Hi Gary, welcome to the forum.

Can you give some more info on what Patrol this is and where this switch sits.

From the looks of it, it seems like either a cacuum or preasure switch. Where does that hose lead to?

Hmmmm.... very confusing pic..... where on the vehicle is his and where do the pipes go to. It looks like vacuum hoses onto an oil pressure sensor. I assume the sensors will all look the same even if it is monitoring air pressure. The black hoses also look very new ( clean black as against aged black piping )

the Older diesel engines fitted with an vacuum pump type alternator had a brake warning light to warn you when there is insufficient vacuum in the brake booster.....
But that does not look like the OEM for that vehicle..looking at the mounting bracket plates...
