How many 4.2 Patrol bakkies in S.Africa

Post by djhep »

As per the title.....does anyone know how many 4.2 diesel Patrol bakkies were sold in South Africa?.
During my drive to Pretoria yesterday i saw literally hundreds of Cruisers bakkies and not a single Patrol.
Guess i joined a pretty exclusive club

Although only a minute percentage when compared to the cruiser 79,..There are more than you might think, however, many of them seeing their life out on mines , or in agricultural sectors, particularly Government owned/run entities. Ironically, the Fire dept 300m from my house uses the Patrol TD42ti as a platform for its rapid fire fighting crew... saw it do some scary stuff when we had the fires this year in the Deep south of CT.

Yes, they are actually working somewhere. Thats why you dont see them on the Hi-way
Sasol recently also bought a few for their emergency fire response vehicles. Nice red with bullbars and snorkels and all the rescue goodies on the back.
Being alive is a Blessing!!
