Endless air compressor

Post by Sweetlips »

Afternoon gents

Maybe this has been answered before but please excuse me if i am duplicating a post.

I have seen 2 people adding to their wish lists the "Endless air" compressor.

How does it work compared to other 4x4 compressors, is it available locally, what is the pricing of these compressors?

I have not found anyone willing to retrofit something like that. Importing from aus will definitely have a price tag over 10K.

From info I have found, the Sanden SD7H15 is probably the best option size and efficiency wise. They came out on some early Nissan motors, Fords, Mazdas etc.
One has to block off the lubricating port to the pistons and tap in a grease nipple. Add some grease every service and it will last years.

Will definitely be adding one to my TD42 when I get the time to... Unless someone beats me to it then I will have it done.

I've read that you have to be some modifications in the engine bay to make it fit - in a TB45E anyway.

When I went form 29" to 33", I found it took me more than 1.5 times longer to pump them. That itself is not too much of an issue, the heat build up was though. I had my old pump heat trip once or twice when I was pumping from 0.8 bar back to 2. Now I am worried that a 160L/min won't be up to pumping the 35's I wan't to fit to the hardbody. May old 160 has packed up, and as my vehicle is stuck in the driveway at the moment, it's not a big issue, but when it comes to buying a new one, I don't know if I should be going for a 160 again.

I see very few places now advertise a L/min rating, they are all going with Amp and PSI ratings. I just called my supplier about this one, and they don't even know what the L/min rating is. Spec just reads:

Heavy duty air compressor With light
Power supply:12V,Rated current:18A
Max pressure:120PSI,
Duration working time:15minutes
5M air hose with a brass quick-releasing adapter 120PSI high-quality pressure gauge
3M cord with battery clips
with 3PCS LED
2x Cylinder diameter: 30mm

Considering that a 160l compressor draws around 40A, I suspect it's pretty small...

David how concerning/sad is it if the suppliers can't even tell you the L/min ratings of their products. How do you know that the product will suffice for your individual needs or not.
