Jeeeze guys you are starting to scare the hell out of me! I have been driving on those rims for years!

But thanks for all the advice. I guess its better to be alive and poor rather than better off and dead.

Truth is i have some alloy rims, but only 3 of them! Not 4, just 3- the 4th one broke on one of the wheel nut holes so thats why I was put off alloy rims. I will have to have a look at this new place that is selling steel rims.

Dankie almal.

Now that I am looking for new rims, offset becomes and issue.

The original Nissan steel rims do not say what the offset is - no sign of an EU that I can see and I cant find an offset that gives the specs for the 4.2SGL. The rims are 15x7J. Does anyone know what the offset is by any chance?

The aftermarket rims all seem to have more positive offset (sticks out to the side of the vehicle more). Will this be a problem for bearings or other mechanical issues?

Rod, yes welcome to the very big search...... I was there a while back so I know how you feel.

Have a look om Errols tyres, they show the offset of all the wheels.

These look quite cool (to me) and they are 15x7.0J with a zero offset, I think your rims are also a zero offset. You can easily measure to see.

AFAIK that wheel got a c/b of 108 and not 110. Did quite a bit of enquiries with a-line and errols tyres last year.. Errols tyres told me that the only 15" wheel they got with c/b of 110 is this one: https://www.errolstyres.co.za/wheel/a-l ... 7/82360014

Doc Rod .. I had a set of Land Cruizer FJ rims machined to fit on THOR [my GQ .. now Andre Visser's GQ, the RED one]

I have yet to see more beautiful attractive rims on a GQ than those FJ rims [they are regularly on sale on Gumtree and OLX and such]
The PLUS is that they are 17" .. and these days you can get 17" tyres at MUCH better prices than on 16" [still sorry I swung from 17 " to 16" ]

Hey yep this sure is proving to be a mission. But at least I am learning stuff. Half of these okes just look blank when you mention off-set. Every rim site on the web I have seen has different specs for the origional Nissan rims. Thats probably because the original Nissan rims didnt have the off set on them.
As another option Ive also been trying to find a 4th rim with the same spec as my 3 mag rims. No luck there either.

Oom Mac those do look good but if I go that way then I have to replace all the tyres as well and thats too much of the folding stuff.

Thanks everyone for all the advice - much appreciated. This seems like one of those things where an oke just has to keep on keeping on until you get there.
