Hi All,
Just a bit of feedback on collecting my 'new' Patrol yesterday.
I flew up to JHB yesterday morning, and was about to jump onto the Gautrain to meet Tinus in Centurion to collect my 2007 4.8 Patrol, when Tinus phoned me and thought that that with all the drama in Alex he would come through in the rain and pick me up from OR.
At last I could put a face to the voice I had had quite a few converations with, as Tinus had found the vehicle for me!
The Patrol had been fitted with a new bull bar - thanks to you know who, and Anthony had also fitted a Madman to monitor the fluids. The EGR probe ended up monitoring the gearbox oil temp.
I left Joburg at 4.45am for East London and was really surprised to see how low the engine temp was once I was into the trip, and everything was at operational temp.
Just for interest sake:
Gearbox oil 74-78 degrees C
Motor oil 48-50 degrees C (my Disco 3 which also has a Madman runs at between 105-116 degrees C!) so I contacted Tinus as I thought the probe was faulty.
Radiator coolant 70-75 degrees C
Oil pressure 5.2
Alternator charging at 14v
Anthony did an oil/oil filter change and ready did an amazing job on installing the Madman - finished at 1.30am morning Friday!
What an lovely vehicle - I will post some pics of the installation shortly, and of the Patrol itself - Tinus did post a pic of it though.
Cheers Rob

Awesome, I was under the impression that the Madman is only for diesel vehicles
