Thank you for that Herrie. How many amp-hours is that battery? I need to have a look at that location as well then. Looks like a good option.

looks like driver side between the body and the gchassis rail, between the gearbox cross member and the sub tank. There is a nice space in that area

Yes. Hate the idea of having to drill holes for cables though.....

It is a 70Ah battery.

As far as drilling goes - If you take a peek under your car you'll note a rubber plug more or less above where I mounted my battery. Push that out and replace with the right size grommet - you now have power inside the cabin, under the drivers seat ... I build a little "power panel" and mounted that in the left rear of the luggage area - there was a little access plate that you use to get to the top left-rear light cluster. I will post a pic at some point. The panel monitors the battery with LED indication and provides Hella and lighter plus sockets.

See photo of the "power panel". The top LED (orange) indicates charging and the lower four indicates the battery voltage.

So I finally got my battery tray/mount fabricated. We have very strange registration rules here in UAE, no welding is allowed to the Chassis, unless approved by the dealer, and for sure Nissan will not know what I am doing here, and will refuse to issue such a letter.

So the mount is bolted to the chassis at 4 locations, using existing captive nuts, and 1 added rivnut. I have also added a mount for the 60 AMP circuit breaker to the back of the mount with some protection below it.

The mount is at the metal coatings workshop for some galvanising, and I should be able to start to install the management system and cabling this week.
