od meter resets on start up.

Hi guys

Have any of you guys ever had the problem that the odd meter resets on the dial cluster on start up ?
The fuel gauge as well the temp gauge drops on crank up.
Any suggestions into what the problem might be will be highly appreciated.

Not too sure, but could it be that the battery is a bit old and tired and has just enough oomph to crank the motor but the amps drawn are too high and there is then not enough power to run any other electronics while cranking to start

I too am not sure what the fault could be, but I believe a lot of problems can be caused by earthing issues. Have you got the ref document for the Patrol? Section 46 might be the solution you are looking for. I tried to copy and paste it but failed. Tried again, hope its there, its just the one page

That could well be the reason Ollie... after the Patrol having its first...... and last swim, the earth connection may have gotten a little rough, and not making a perfect connection
