That looks like a remote from a 1-tonner bakkie.

Nails (spelling) in Sandton have them in stock! Bought extra ones for my bakkie years back from them. They are also very helpfull!

Hi there,

Just an Update.

A locksmith assisted here in Ellisras. (Husband of the lady working at the Nissan spares department). He took the old remote and replaced the button - both the internals of the button and the "vrot" rubber knob :woo:

All for a cost of only R150, including a new battery!

I have the same remote and now I am battling to get a new battery.
I got 4x LR754 stuck together with tape but that is not really perfect as they can loose contact in between them.
Is there aftermarket battery by a known company like energizer, duracell or similar which fits in this remote?

Can anybody tell me what make that immobilizer is? Obviously it is not original Nissan and I would like to replace one remote or at least get operating instructions which I don't have.

Hi Florian
I picked up a battery the other day in Roodepoort at an Auto-Electrician (radios, tracking systems etc) for R20 while looking for someone to repair/replace the spare.

The lady at the counter even opened the remote and fitted the battery for me. She had numerous in stock so it tells me it is a standard battery for vehicle remotes - thus just pop into the closes AutoElectrician and they should be able to assist.

Thanks for the reply!
Unfortunately in Hoedspruit the auto electricians are not that well stocked.
But I think I found the battery now somewhere else in the internet.
I'll give it a try to order one and give feedback if it works.

Now I got a L721 9v-battery which is the only one with the correct format.
I will insert it in two days and then tell you how it worked out. I am not sure if I won't fry the remote with 9V as 4x1.5 (what I got in the store) is only 6V but who knows which voltage is the correct one?

Will follow up.

As promised: the battery fits and works perfectly and also didn't fry the electronics inside.

Ok, I was trying to get a new remote via Nissan.
I just phoned with them and they told me, the system is not original Nissan, but Nissan approved.
It is a conlog-system. The guys from Nissan Lydenburg told me, the last time that had to deal with the company was 5-6 years ago and it was not very pleasant.
I couldn't find the company conlog anywhere on the internet, at least not with a usable contact number or email. Does anybody know, if and where they might still exist?

I think, the only alternative is, to pull that system out completely and get a complete new system, isn't it?

Edit: changed name to the correct spelling
