Air con

Post by dieselfan »

On my old Terrano when idling or slow driving the AC didn't blow cold air, only at about 60km/h did it "work". It would come on at idle but now blow cold air. I was happy when I got the Pathfinder as it worked great idling or not.

How does the Patrol AC work? It's HORRIBLE being in Kruger etc and having to MOVE to get cold air.

1999 GRX, has 4 speeds of aircon. At the lowest setting, you need to move (+-20 km/h) for full effect. Other settings: ICE at idle.
May the road be long.. and dirty.

Is this phenomenon related to airflow over the aircon radiator?

Cool  , so now do they actually have a noticeable effect on fuel consumption? The modern AC's dont so I just leave it on permanently, my wife's golf as a result is 9 years old and hasn't need re gasing once.
