Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Recently, when I bought my Patrol, I received a set of coils and shocks with the Patrol. Apparently it is a 2" lift kit that was removed because of a knocking sound. The knocking turned out to be a different issue. The coils are a light blue colour and has no markings on them. The rear set lenght are 460 and 440mm respectively. The front ones are 440 and 420mm respectively. Are these lengths consistent with a 2" lift?

Impossible to say as there are too many other factors involved.

Put them in and drive around for a while. Then use the above to calculate the lift. At the back very important to not measure into the bumpstop receiver. Put something flat over it, measure and then add the thickness of whatever you put over the bumpstop receiver.

Find this strange. I have a second set of springs a forum member passed onto me for my SFA build. The springs are also 20mm different in size between left and right. Is this normal, and does it wear like that, or are they supplied like that.

Other problem is, I don't know which should be left and which right. Although I suppose, in my case, it's irrelevant, and I should figure which side of my vehicle would be the heavier and possibly need the extra length.

The drivers weight and the curve on the road is thus compansated.

Yes. It is correct. It must be longer on driver side. To compensate for sub tank also.

I just measured my car: the drivers side (empty car, sub tank full) is about 15mm lower than the passengers side. The measurement was taken between the underside of the fender and the upper edge of the tyre.

So could it be that somebody put the coils in the wrong way around and that is why the drivers side is 15mm lower?

Its possible that they may be swap around. Few people know this fact and pay attention to it.
Its better to measure inside between bump stops or from the bottom centre of the mag to the inside edge of the fender.
Also make sure that tyres are pump even. ( this sounds silly but I have found it to make up to 10mm difference )

I just measured the lift space according to the reference provided in this thread:
FL 50mm
FR 45mm
RL 70mm
R R 70mm.

Taking into account that I have a ‘99 GRX I am afraid I can conclude that four new springs are a good idea, isn‘t it?

If both tanks are full and maybe a little weight in the back those measurements are not bad for standard suspension. If you have a 50 mm lift then yes they are very sad.
