GQ Patrol Windscreen

Post by DeWetSwanepoel »

Does anyone know where I can find a windscreen for my GQ?
Anywhere near Pretoria?

Couple of years ago I got mine from BSG Glass in Boksburg, it was listed under Safari, and the price was excellent.

My Old Safari windscreen was R600 about 8 years ago, fitment included, windscreen rubber supplied by myself (From Pro-Auto rubber in Boksburg, 3 km from Commercial Autoglass, they charge per meter for the universal windscreen rubber) This is the same windscreen and rubber as used in the GQ.

My Y61 windscreen was R1000 two years ago. No rubber required - bonded windscreen

Both form Commercial Autoglass. Both were SABS Approved shatter proof safety glass.

Safari windscreen form:
Commercial Auto Glass (Pty) Ltd Germiston
Address: 5 Edgar Rd, Rustivia, Germiston, 1401
Phone: 011 822 4767

Y61 windscreen from:
Commercial Auto Glass (Pty) Ltd. Johannesburg,
Address: Corner Westex and Webber Street, Selby, Johannesburg, 2001
Phone: 011 493 5724

Fitment under one hour and done while you wait. They are both open on Saturday mornings. Just get there early, as it is on a first come, first served basis.....

I see there is a Pretoria Branch as well:

COMMERCIAL AUTO GLASS Pretoria,
Address: 90 Soutter St, Pretoria West,
Phone: 012 327 5261

If you are looking for cooling or aircon radiators of any type (for Patrols as well)
and
4x4 manual locking hubs for any 4x4, try their Selby Branch, just across the road from Commercial Auto Glass.

IMPORTANT!!! - Take the old radiator as a sample

Commercial Bakkie Centre
3 Trump St &, Westex St, Johannesburg
011 493 7010
Open ⋅ Mon - Fria - 8am to 5 pm, Sat 8am to 1pm
