Update everyone.

Please see the attached pictures. Unfortunately the Onca one has not come out so well.

Price thus far:

Onca:
Double for R15826,00 and the single R12406,00, incl VAT and fitment, excluding group buy discount (still to be negotiated).

ForFours:
Price: R9 000 vat inclusive - No spare wheel carrier
R11 500 - One spare wheel carrier
R13 500 - Two SWC's
ForFours have offered a group discount of 10%.

4x4Megaworld offer a bumper made by IEF Engineering (Outback Extreme) - R20,776 for double wheel carriers... ouch.. don't know the price if you go directly through Outback Extreme.

Of major importance, in my humble opinion, is the swing arm mechanism and the durability thereof. I am going to visit both workshops tomorrow (200km round trip!!!) although having spoken to a mate at 4x4MW he recommends Onca in terms of price and quality, unless you want just a rear bumper with no wheel carriers, then ForFours best.

I'll take some pictures at each shop and post later this weekend.

Hi gents

I am also looking at Big Country 4x4. Richard Ransome is the owner there, his work and the guys at Onca seem very well rated on the LCCSA website. I'm taking my Patrol to him tomorrow morning to have a look at where we'll discuss development options.

Onca have made provision to have Jongosi booked in 2nd week of September. Onca is one-stop-shop if you looking for rock sliders, hannibal roof racks, safari snorkels, undercarriage protection, mickey tompson rims and a few others. Big Country is the same, except they dont make rocksliders, and they make their own roof racks which are highly regarded (same league as hannibal).

Anyway, I'll see how tomorrow's meeting goes and then provide the details once again!

Hey Dave, I know i said earlier that i'd recommend the ONCA bar, as i have them on my truck, but man that rear bar from four fours looks the goods hey! if they can fabricate it with metal sides i'd be inclined to go with them (purly on looks, i dont know their strength) .

So many to choose from:

four fours
Desert stormer
Outback (but not really $$$ )
Burnco
Nomad (or Gomad as they now called i believe)
Snyman
Onca

Eish ,....
