H260 HD diff driveshaft oil leak

Post by davidvdm »

Today I bash out a wheel stud to have a sample to get two new ones, and find the drum full of oil. Looks like its leaking from the tube seal. So how does this come apart, and has anybody got a part number for that seal.

And in a town like Parys, nobody will, or can get the same wheel studs thread pitch I need. Ask if they can get, they just not interested. Now ended up buying two packets Toyota studs of five in a packet to start replacing them all. They only have two packets, so I can't even do both the rear wheels. Will at least do one for now, and go search for more later in Cape Town when I get back there.

Anyhow, this leak is my biggest concern, can someone help with some info please.

Mine is the H260, with the third member, but don't see it being the full floater.

Parys must be a always going right town if they don't have M12 x1.25 studs . Nissan use it extensively

I'm out of time to get spares now. I did go see if Autozone has any idea of what I need, but I may as well have gone looking for a windmill for a chinese wigwam.

Still trying to raise the materials for a new crossmember across the front suspension. Still fighting a death wobble which wheel balancing, rotation and wheel alignment did not sort out.

Yesterday coming back from town, I pick up a rattling noise from the rear when cruising at exact engine revs, no torque on diff, or running against motor, just cruising to maintain speed. This morning I pop in under the Sani to find that the pinion has a bit of play on it.

NOW WHAT???

I don't know shops here on the West Coast, and as usual, there is no budget to do this job
