LSD Oil - urgent
Hizit lads,
Where can i get Limited slip diff oil from , and possibly a friction modifier too. Agents quoted me R203 per Lt @ 5.0 Lt = R1000 odd bucks - after vomiting in my mouth a little i decided to ask you boys for alternatives..... I'd love to have this info within 24 hours.
thanks
Ps: I heard of Castrol LSX doing wonders for the Lsd but where can i get this ? Other brands also welcomed though.

Russ, In Brackenfell I would go to 'Goeie Hoop Onderdele' - they have everything!

Not so sure where to go in the southern suburbs though....
I have used Castrol LSX with great success in my old Safari

Re: LSD Oil - urgent
Hi Russ
Suburban Spares in Ottery used to have it, I have also seen it at Tonnesons in Claremont. I think its fairly commonly stocked by most of the spares shops so I`m sure if you make a few phone calls you`ll come right.
SRXy`s LSD runs with Castrol LSX.....it had been running with normal diff oil for quite a while and was basically dead (ie open diff!!), but after washing everything out with paraffin a few times, and re-filling with LSX, the LSX has really brought it back to life!

Re: LSD Oil - urgent
Thanks guys.
Ross, This is exactly what has happened to mine. Nissan put normal oil in my rear diff and it is obviously not operating the way it should. I am so furious with them. However, Nissan are useless and crying over spilt milk is a waste here, unless the diff was damaged, then i would go mental! I plan on purchasing the LSX and running the vehicle for about 100 km, then drain again and fill again, however, with the agents quoting me over R1000 i cannot do this, i need a solution in the form of the cheaper LSX.
I will call around first thing tomorrow for this..... hold thumbs guys!

Re: LSD Oil - urgent
Will do, gonna ring him first thing.
Why is it then that Nissan LSD oil, and , SOS Cape town oil suggestion of (Gear oil GL5 75w 140 Full Synth) , is literally 5 times the price, surely there's a reason?
