I very much doubt that Jules. I believe the Ignitor will either work or not work.

Maar as jy hom regtig wil vervang, praat asseblief eers met my?

Jules,
If possible , get out and look at the exhaust fumes when it misbehaves. Blackish smoke will tell you that it is getting too much fuel at idle. Float level eratic.

Another possibility is a small amount of water in the fuel. It will sit in the bottom of the float chamber and form a small droplet in front of the main jet.
When driving it will just get sucked through but at idle it will mess with the mixture.

Glad to hear you got the culprit in terms of the carb issues.

As for the chi chi chi sound, perhaps try locking the hubs to make sure it is not an issue with them ? Not sure if your hubs are manual or auto locking, but that is generally indicative of a hub requiring maintenance on the auto locking assemblies.

Alternatively, perhaps brake pads ?

The chi chi chi is possibly the old school high tech early warning system on the brake pads indicating that they are almost ready to be changed

Jack one wheel up at a time and feel the wheel bearing play, you will probably find it is a bit loose and needs tightening

Some report back, the chi chi was not the brake pad early warning system, my left wheel bearings was so loose it was scary , the culprit was the lock washer and fortunately the bearings still fine. However I am going to convert as per TourdeFrans my front bearing system from GQ to GU
