Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

The button on my diesel filter prime pump broke, I went to Nissan to see if I cant buy the button only but have to buy the complete assembly at a cost of R2300 exl vat.

Masterparts etc dont stock the item, I found a marine prime pump but its an inline hand pump ( looks like the pressure pump on a bp cuff)

If anyone have a substitute part number or supplier for a proper prime/filter assembly it would be great.

Hmmm... I would say try a scrap yard or David Volskenk in Warmbaths... He could courier it down to you.

What vehicle is it? 3.0, 4.2 NA, 4.2 TD?

Yes it looks the same.

I broke my lift pump on my 3.0 in Mozambique and in a small village there I found a Toyota one that fitted and it was very cheap. The only difference was the diameter of the pipes were smaller but I had a piece of plastic pipe that made an insert. That was probably in 2011 and I am still using it because the Nissan replacement part was too expensive. Forgot to mention that the 2 top bolts holes had different widths so only used 1 bolt until back in SA.
