Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Does anyone know what this is? Found it in my door cupholder. My wife don’t recall putting it there. Car went for a service at Nissan a few weeks ago - wondering if they put it there.

Says it is a wear indicator.

What did they replace during the service? IE does the invoice give any clues?

I am thinking it comes from somewhere in the braking system, probably either rear brake pads or (perhaps more likely) the hand brake/parking brake pads?
