The only thing I hate about my patrol (which is an awesome vehicle)....
No not the fuel consumption.....but those useless baby size cup holders! Jeez nothing fits in there, definitely not a beer. If it was not for coke trying to rip us off by shrinking the plastic bottles, I would not have anything to put in there (well maybe a red bull). There must be some 3d printer genius that can print something to fit over those puny little dimples and provide some real man size cup holders

Must be a facelift Patrol thing. Both my 4.5 and the wife's (pre-facelift) 4.8's cope nicely....

I see the guys on the aussie forums are also complaining about it. Maybe the dude that had the patrol before me just preferred "small" drinks

take it out .. that leaves a square opening where my 1,5 litre water bottle fits in

Coincidentally I feel the same! It’s the most pathetic cup holder know to the automotive industry.
Today after being fed up with the cup holders I embarked on designing a prototype. I completed it this afternoon and will use it as is for a couple days and then make necessary changes and tweaks. Thereafter I will have it fabricated and leather lined and bound.
The cup holders in the prototype arent the final, I’ve ordered 2 stainless cup holders from amazon, they have an internal led light and drainage.

Not a lot of cars can accommodate a fire extinguisher or a 2l Coke in the door.....

I’ll be refining it over the following week, thereafter get costing and then send for fabrication.
Itll be leather wrapped and stitched like the gear knobs.
Essentially it’s a drop in unit.

Very odd.
My beer can fits perfectly in the cup holder. And let me tell you, it’s been well used!
