Patrol Written off
Hello Everyone
A horse, yes I kid you not, galloped at full tilt into my Patrol.
Insurance has written it off, being a 2008 Model stood against it, even though she only has 80 000 km on her.
Insurance wants 80 k for her as a salvage if anyone is interested.
Other than radiator, do mechanical damage to motor, still starts fine.
I will post some pics of the debacle later on.
I am in urgent need of another Patrol, must be 4.8 GRX and in excellent condition.
Would prefer to spend less than 400 k and low mileage, under 150 000 km.
Condition and low km is what I am looking for.
If anyone knows of anything it would be much appreciated.
I have looked at all the usual sites.

Re: Patrol Written off
I was basically coming back from the nearest town to my farm..
As I was entering the village I dimmed my lights for oncoming cars, How I have questioned that over and over in my mind.
It was around 18h45 so not yet completely dark and there was nothing in the road, but the next thing this horse was there, I just saw its neck and head in my windscreen and that was it. No time to break or nothing.
In viewing the scene the next morning, There is a dirt road coming down from the right and the horse obviously was galloping down that dirt road and basically galloped into my car.
All fluids gone, from horse and car. The car had to be left there as there.
I must say, I hardly felt the bump which attests to the solidity of a Patrol.
Had I been in a normal car I doubt I would be in a position to tell my story.

Re: Patrol Written off
So I have found a possible replacement or two
The one I like is a bit more than I wanted to spend but in my opinion is a good deal.
2017 model with 29000 km for 500 k
A farmer in Hartswater.
Book Trade value is R 712000.00 and Retail is R 636,600.00
Now we know that second hand Patrols perform badly, price wise, but considering the above what do you guys think as value for money?
It was at a Nissan dealer for R 580 K but I managed to get hold of the owner directly to do a private sale.
Considering only 29000 km and less than one year old, does anyone think 500 k is too much to pay?
