Fanus - Bel my op 0seven3 2double5 eight7eight1.

" The Firetruck" 's interior is currently stripped so the timing is perfect.

I was looking at some dodgy wiring on Boxing Day morning and decided to fix it. Should take 20 min :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Well as I started fixing I just found more and more c$ap.

2 days later I had removed a whole lot of unfused circuits, 2 tracking devices, wiring for 3 sound systems, 2 old alarms +++++++ (a pile of wiring that filled a quarter of my big back council dustbin.

Decided as I had basically stripped the cab, doors and dash this would be a good opportunity to go the whole hog and have fitted most of a new sound system, am busy lining the cab with sound deadening material and reassembling.

Spotted at a dealer in Worcester and rumour has it is is coming up to Gauteng. And to make it even more interesting I have heard it has a lady owner.
Maybe the new owner would be interrested in doing a seat swap with me.... :eureka:

Fanus - Will chat. I think it's a good idea and will chat with her after it arrives. Please post pic of yours.
Well, if you are interrested: My passanger seat with centre console etc. is currently removed.
Can arrange to get it to you, if you want to see if it fits? :eureka:
Fanus. I have a better idea.

I know that the seats are interchangeable as the mounting points for both are already there.

My concern is the centre console and gear surround. In particular the handbrake position.

Please check if your bakkie's centre console and gear surround is the same as your 4.5 including the mounting points.

If they are the same I will take the centre console and gear surround off my 4.5 to check if they fit in the bakkie.

Have not had time to remove the gear surround/panel on the 4.5, but judging by the position of the screws i would say that it is exacly the same as my bakkie's. The panels, centre console handbrake etc is exactly the same.

Only thing i have noticed by looking at pics of similiar model bakkie as yours, is that the gear panel attaching bracket seems to be slightly different. Not sure if these panels are interchangeable between these two models.
The handbrake also looks different. But dont think its a problem.

From what I can see my concern about the handbrake is the same as yours. Will remove the console and gear surround from the 4.5 this weekend and see how it fits.

The seats themselves are no problem as both sets of mounting holes are there on both bakkies.

The gear surround front mounting holes are the same but the back bracket is completely different and would require grinding and welding.

On the console the handbrake mechanisms would need to be swopped and that back bracket of yours for the console would also require welding and grinding.

As much as I would like to do the conversion I do not think it is feasable unless we have both vehicles together, time and equipment.

From your side I would also rethink as the bench seat is only 20 cm wider than the single seat so the 3rd person idea is not really practical. For me the console would be a lot more useful than the extra bit of seat.
