So after some intesive inspection, I found my turbo has gone.
So my question is :
Do I replace it with a VNT turbo again or is it better to replace it with a standard turbo?

Dankie vir julle insae, ja dit lyk my dit is maar die beste om met die oorspronklike VNT turbo te stick.
Turbo Clinic in Port Elizabeth vra my R4500 vir 'n service exchange Garret.

Re: Turbo for ZD30 DI
Hi Paul. Just gone through what you are going through now. Apparently Garrett do not supply spares for their turbos and only do the remanufacture themselves. So, from what I understand, you will be given an inferior product that may not last too long. My locally rebuilt turbo lasted about 6K. I decided to bite the bullet and got a brand new one from Alert motor spares. It was just under 11500 with my pensioners discount but I now feel confident to venture into Africa without an extra worry.
It is of course possible that I was fed a lot of sales talk, but speak to Brian at Mad Man as he gets re-conned turbos from Garrett in the UK.
Regards.
Barry
