Gold-coloured 4.8 outside in Broadway road in Somerset West. Miss my truck - driving a very "plat" Corolla at the moment...

Re: Patrol Spotting
On saturday the 22nd April, I took a drive around Walvisbay, out to Paaltjies. Coming back, I found a road sign "Sandwhich harbor. 4x4 only. Permit required". Well' I had a permit, but not enough time, but I took a drive in anyway.
Found a couple of mild dunes (and a couple of springbuck), and took a few pictures.
Coming back, I saw a couple of cars climbing a nice steep-looking dune. One looked kinda familiar. Grabbing my Binos, I had a closer look, and then set of in hot persuit.
At the top of the dune, I caught up, and then spent the next hour or so driving along.

He wasn't at the time, but I did tell him about the forum.
He was the tour leader, and owns three GQ's, although one has been rolled.

Re: Patrol Spotting
Passed a silver GU on Hennie Alberts Street in Meyersdal this morning at about 7:50. I waved and gave a quick hoot, but the driver wasn't looking my way. I didn't see a forum sticker, just a ZA sticker on the back. Looked like an overlander type of dude driving, cause there was a drawer system with what looked like a fridge in the back.
Regards
Cedric

Oom Mac, is hierdie Juandre, of iemand anders? Ek vra net, want ek het nooit die ou se naam gekry nie. Maar die naam op sy hemp is iets met 'n D. Lyk asof dit Dolf kan wees.Kagiso II wrote:Juandre [JGOUWS] is a meber of this Forum .. On the way to Sandwich Harbour one passes over a treacherous salt pan. It is important to stick to the well worn tracks. People often wander off these tracks and get then really get stuck when the crust of what looks like hard terrain gives way and they end up to the doors in mud. Nobody except a local four wheel drive tractor, which is about 6 km away, will offer any help due to the risk of them getting stuck as well.
