Re: New fitments and warranty
On any Diesel I would recommend an EGT monitoring device !!! Either a Madman or something similar or even just a simple gauge that will monitor the exhaust gas temperatures. This is the most crucial piece of equipment that you will EVER need !!!

Re: New fitments and warranty
Wait for Summer and towing or 4x4 work then the engine temps will indicate if there is a problem. I personally do not like the winch controller there, thou mine sits there, thus no spots for me until I have moved the controller elsewhere!
And Cerdic is right, install a EGT sensor, the best warranty you will ever buy with a 3l diesel.

Re: New fitments and warranty
Hey you have a great patrol there ....after all that extras the first thing to spend money on a turbo diesel is a madman or simmalar uint to monitor your egt waterlevel oil pressure ect . Its about 3 to 3.5k and a good investment. The main reason being the alam that makes a noise .....read up on it there's a lot of info here

Re: New fitments and warranty
Would strongly recommend a Madman monitoring the EGT's. My tempreture gauge stays normal under heavy loads but the EGT's go over 600degrees. On 720 the engine will get permanant damage.

Re: New fitments and warranty
I have a madman on my 3.0di and I can tell you my temps reduced by a few degrees when I took off the spots. I have a TJM bumper. I had Hella spots. My temp gauge did not move but I used to run at around 85-95 degrees. Now without spots I run at 82-90 degrees. Neither overheating but there is a difference. I did nothing else at that time.

Re: New fitments and warranty
Get a Madman with at least EGT and water temp, its not that much cash to fork out and its well worth it.
The temp gauge in the car only starts moving around 105deg in my Patrol so you will never know how much of a differance the spots and winch makes.
