My Patrol 2005 3.0 Diesel

Post by HazyPatrol »

I acquired this 2005 diesel manual Patrol some 20,000 km ago and my wife was not very impressed - it was the lack of automatic and coming from having done a good 100,000 km in a Mercedes ML500 it could be understood. What is however refreshing is the fact that my general day-to day up and down travels records a 7.58 km/liter whilst on the open road a 120-130 km/h we get between 8,7 and 9,2 km/l. I have no roofracks or do not tow anything. Althouh I am aware of the fuel consumption of the 4,8, I would have my wife in a far better disposition towards Patrol if there is power and Automatic available. The Patrol is stock standard and from the photos nice to look at, a pleasure to drive (especially on the open road) and fuel-wise suprisingly efficient.
However, if the right 4,8 come around I would seriously look at upgrading my comfort and Power whilst the opposite for economy - but fuel is the least expensive part of vehicle ownership.

???????? Sorry - but I don't understand that statement of yours at all. Please elaborate a little bit on your reasoning.

Hi Pieter,

My huidige Patrol is 'n 3.0 Diesel handrat.
Laeveldgroete,
Izak Fick

Hello Izak

Groete
Peter
