Compared to the more expensive Zarteks (larger with bigger antennas) the com8 doesn't have the greatest range, but it talks to my dual band VHF / UHF handheld radio. If the forum prefers UHF, which license free channel and CTCSS code is usually used? We have 8 + 5 channels, and something like 38 ctc...

I have VHF and UHF handheld with magnet mount on the Patrol. And a spare hand held for anyone travelling with me. Never considered the 10m band as it seems there are too few people using it.

I also have my ham radio license, but I have never had use for it for convoy / 4x4 comms.
