Re: 4.8 Valve clearance adjustment
Thanks Rudolf, I thought as much. Will have to wait for the borders to open so I can take it to someone in SA.

4.8 Valve clearance adjustment
Howzit guys Want to get the valve clearances checked on the patrol so I contacted my local dealer for a quote. They are insisting that in order to get new shims put in they have to take the head off and send it to engineering. I'm no mechanic but I'm almost 100% certain that you dont have to take th...

Re: sway bar , recondition, upgrade?
You can look at Bilstein for springs. They are competitively priced and they have a range of load carrying options. Decent shocks too. I run them on my patrol, happy so far but I will be going to a higher constant load spring for the rear. If you really want to deal with the sway bar just order anot...

Re: sway bar , recondition, upgrade?
Also, do you have a roof rack and carry loads on the roof? This will perpetuate the issue... it still would come down to a shock issue though and maybe also new springs

Re: sway bar , recondition, upgrade?
This sounds like a shock problem to me :oldtimer: the actual sway bar itself does not function like a "sping" in that sense. If rock the vehicle from side to side and it keeps rocking back and forth for a while after your you let it go then it's the shocks... the sway bar is there for stab...

Re: 2020 Year Plan
Hi Drik, the fuel situation in Botswana has put a massive spanner in the works. They have restricted each vehicle to P250 max purchase per filling station and that doesnt get one far in the old 4.8 so we have had to postpone/cancel the trip out to Khawa and mabuasehube QQQ but I will still get all t...

Re: 2020 Year Plan
On the bots side? Your tent  it's free wild camping at khawa but that being said it would go a long way if the forum contributed financially or otherwise to the community at Khawa as part of the event for the privilege of exploring thier area. We could say that every participant contributes R2...

Re: 2020 Year Plan
A possible future forum event venue? The dunes at Khawa in South West Botswana, very near Tshabong and a chip and a put from Mabuasehube?
