Its an intermittent fault.
I picked it up the first time last year, so I thought I should try and sort it out. Most of the niggles on my van have been rectified, this one still irks me.

U1000 error code
I picked up this error code when I put the ECU in diagnostic mode. From an interwebs source I get the following. "U1000 Nissan Tech Notes Usually, the problem is poor harness ground connection." "Service bulletin suggests cleaning engine and body harness ground connection to repair th...

Re: Me and bad habits!
Unfortunetly the TD42 is a VERY expensive engine to build or repair which is something not to take litely ... In saying that, if anything goes wrong with a fancy new TB48, its only manageable when the guys on the forum come to your rescue - comparatively a turbo diesel rebuild is not that expensive...

Re: Bush-Cab Roofracks

Re: Y61 4.2 Rear knocking noise
One of the rubbers on my rear sway bars disintegrated. The sway bar had a lot of play as a result and any drastic movement, such as going over a speed bump would result in a loud clack sound. I've also had two of my shocks on different cars develop knocking sounds. It was a major pain to find since ...

Re: Auto lock on doors
1) The first and most important is not the remote battery, but the vehicle battery. I've had a few occasions where the vehicle battery (mind you. not on my Patrol, surely they do not fail...) had died and necessitated the key to open the car. So removing the linkages would not have been a great idea...
