The coupling will need replacing at some point. And at that mileage, I'd do it anyway. When replacing the thermostat, make sure it works. ie: Boil the kettle, pour boiling water into a coffee cup and chuck the new thermostat in there. It should open up. If you're going to the effort of taking the pump out, I'd suggest replacing the pump entirely. Might be an idea to do the viscous coupling too if that has not been done before.

I was an avid Delo 400 supporter and user for the iron Maiden for many years, but one service a few years back I couldn't get any Delo 400, so saw the Shell HX7 as shown on the pics above by Tapie, and mine runs smooth and without any more oil consumption than usual.
