Re: 4.8 Ratkas.

As mens te lank in bv. 3rde ry en mens gee nie petrol om te accelerate dan change hy self oor om teen so laag as moontlik refs te ry. Maar die indukasie op die intrument paneel bly 3rde wys. Dis vir my baie swak. Mens moet dan raai in watse rat jy is. Selfde as jy sou stop. Hy skakel oor na eerste m...

Re: Patrol 4.8 spark plugs

I do not know if they use the same plugs. Service manual states plugs every 30 000km if I remembered correctly. I changed mine with the specified NGK plugs. It not such a heavy job. I did it in 4hrs and that was taking my time fiddling with everything else as well. 30000km is a long time. Reverts to...

Re: 4.8 Ratkas.

I check my 4.8 yesterday. It pulls away in first gear, wheather in manual or auto.
But the torque convertor does a very good job. I have not gotten stuck in the sand on pull away yet. If you apply fuel wisely you should not have a problem.

Re: Coil lengths

Its possible that they may be swap around. Few people know this fact and pay attention to it. Its better to measure inside between bump stops or from the bottom centre of the mag to the inside edge of the fender. Also make sure that tyres are pump even. ( this sounds silly but I have found it to mak...

Re: Over heating problems

Yes, get the car up to normal temps. Put heater on full warm. The while idling you remove the cap. You will see the bubbles and a poor stream of water come out. Continue until you see a solid strong stream of water comming out. Put the cap back. Wait a bit and do it again until their is no more air ...

Re: Over heating problems

Right at the back against the fire wall is a bleed pipe on the 4.8. Its not a srew. Just blanked off with a cap. But its the highest point on the water system. I bled mine with it and there is no issues. My reason for bleeding was not overheating but a pipe that needed replacement. Hence I lost wate...

Re: Dunlop MT

Looking at fanus first picture of when the dunlops was new. I cannot beleive they have any grip on tar or gravel at speed limit speeds. There is almost no contact with the tar in compareson to to the AT's next to it.
