Re: Tb48 vs Td42 Engine

This really comes down to personal prefrence I think. If like Graham you enjoy the very smooth and quiet engine with a AT then the 4.8 will always be your pick. If you like a manual box, loud exhaust's and more torque then the TD42 might be higher on the rankings. I would actually like to be at ano...

Michael, thanks so much for the very gracious offer, I checked it out online and the td42 is definitely different.
Try contact Dawid Volschenk. He may have an old one in his yard.

Re: GU mirror base plates

Hi JP I had what I think is the same problem. The mirror casing is loose, and the screws on the outside is not the problem, but this pivot thing on the inside (which is likely broken). That is a very intricate little piece of technology inside there. You may be able to wedge a thin slice of rubber b...

Re: UNLEADED petrol in n GQ 1995

Since I got Shorty (a 1993 TB42 Carb), I have given it 93 unleaded.
Never an issue there.

Re: Zerubabel

Mine does between 4.8 and 5. I think I’ve seen a 5.5 and a 6 maybe once in the four years of ownership. What I noticed again was someone mentioning they cruise at 140km/h. Mine has no hope of that, my cruising speed is 110. It’s a tiring effort to try keep it at 120, and it’s a hell of a thing to t...

Re: New here Advice on new Patrol

Hi all Zerubabel is turning out to be a very expensive vehicle The fuel I have under control and budget for, but she always wants more modifications. I added up that I want more than R 200 000 worth of upgrades. So that will take me at least two years if not five, eisch Bash plates on their way, ne...

Re: Navara/Pathfinder 2.5 or 3.0 DCI engine for Patrol 3.0

I have owned the V9X Navara 4x4, the turbo and intercooler replacement under warranty was R 85 000 , the Viscous Fan is in the region of R21 000. It is an awesome engine until it goes wrong. Sekerlik is TD42 ook groot geld as iets fout gaan. Alle ombouings is duur, maar na ‘n goeie ombouing is hers...
