It's held down by aluminium around the edges and that's more than enough. You can even flip it upside down and the rubber remains in place - those tiles are quite rigid and not very "bendy" at all. If you want to you could probably use rubber cement or something similar, but I've never found the lac...

Very nice lockdown project! I used one and a bit rubber floor tiles mounted onto plywood for my drawer - easy to clean and very durable.

Home made respirator?
I'm assuming many of the clever guys on the forum may have a bit of time on their hands during the lockdown? If so, why not improve on this guy's idea for a cheap DIY respirator ? I'm thinking some old wiper motors from a scrapyard may be cheaper than an electric drill, and 3d printing could be used...
