It seems, my alternator is giving me a hard time. It generates between 15.1 and 15.9V on higher revs - far too much I think. Now I am considering a replacement - does anyone have experience with Denki alternators? I found it at Partsouq. Or which brand / type would you recommend, available in South...

Florian, the regulator is definitely part of the alternator, and it's also definitely the cause of the problem.

Unfortunately it's not the more modern type that just attaches to/from the outside of the alternator, so the alternator will have to be removed and repaired.

I would like to see them. Unfortunately the TD42 is just about the most sought-after (and thus expensive) engine of the lot (Patrol-wise anyway). Pity the block was left under a tree to rust. It would probably be cheaper to fit a TB48. It would definitely be a lot cheaper to fit a TB42 or TB45. The ...
