How much oil does it take per service and are the filters cheap and obtainable from a place like Midas?

Re: Tell me everything about my Patrol
If you can make an old 4.2 rn at 8km/l I am getting an SGL first thing coming back from Namibia. Lots of them in Gumtree lately.
Please post the detail of that weber, I am interested.
Is it possible to convert the 4.2 petrol to EFI or is it not advised?

Pieter you are kidding. A radio controlled Landy? wow Did you not get spanked if the toy left some oil marks on the carpet? :rolling: That discovery ad is the best. Everything is replaced, makes it the best Landy in mint condition. Pah. That is a classic case of a poor sucker that was taken for a ri...

Re: Looking at the 4.5 maths for fuel vs Tdi
What parts for the TD42 diesel?? The TD42 is pretty bulletproof unless it's heavily turboed and driven too hard....the "handgrenade" is a whole other kettle of fish though. Sure but what is the consumption on the 4.2? and the NA motor's service interval is not far, filling that block with...

Re: Patrol behaving funny
If it is fly by wire there are plenty of stuff to be checked. As a rule start with the simple stuff first. Air cleaner check enough air is going trough. Mass Airflow sensor MAF or something measure the air that comes trough, feed to the ECU and that adjust the diesel volume. Faulty reading can cause...
