Re: LS2, 1UZ or TD42T engine conversion
Hi Bertjan...... I can't advise on what option you should take with regards to increasing the power on your vehicle, but I can say that if you do go for a Lexus V8 1UZ, don't worry about lack of power. I did this conversion to my series 60 Landcruiser, and it is still considerably faster than my mil...

Re: how much does your Patrol weigh?
I weighed my 4.2td bakkie recently. 2800kg incl 90 litres fuel, trallies, front and rear steel bumpers. I have a feeling that i may have been slightly overloaded recently on a trip back from Hoedspruit as i was towing a 5m car trailer with 6 x 4.5m double thickness railway sleepers on the trailer, a...

Re: Madman / Landy on line
Another thing, do a quick check that the black wire from the unit attaches to the engine block and not the vehicle chassis. They usually attach the wire to a bolt just above and beside the clutch pedal.
If connected there you will get fluctuating readings when operating lights, ac etc.

Re: Madman / Landy on line
Hi Fanus. The problem you have with oil pressure dropping and setting off the alarm is probably due to incorrect fitment of the sender. If you take a look you might see that it is leaking, this is because when installed they dont use teflon tape on the threads. Both bakkies we took for a madman inst...

Re: Madman / Landy on line
Hi all. Im just reading this thread now. SAC in Boksburg did a good job tuning my Patrol recently, and i am happy with the work they did....... However they also routed the earth wire to the cab chassis, causing erratic readings while operating lights, a/c etc. They also fitted the oil pressure sens...

Re: Patrol bakkie - New bumpers and LED lights fitted
Hi Fanus...... Im not sure that there is alot more that i can do now to improve the bakkie. SAC told me that they can recore the existing intercooler to make it deeper. They say this will improve hp and keep engine temps down. I may look at doing this but would like to hear from others to see if it ...

Re: Patrol bakkie - New bumpers and LED lights fitted
Hi Russ. I agree regarding the rear number plate. It will definitely get ripped off Will probably mount it on the rear of the trallies or if its possible to get a stick-on plate here in S. Africa i could attach it to the tailgate. As you say, the front bar is designed for use with fender flares. I'm...
