Christo, I guess it depends on the vehicle setup. If you are running a turbo engine, I would always go for the Nissan original. In a NA setup, the aftermarket units does the jobChristoSlang wrote: ↑09 Feb 2025 19:07 Michael, what's the plan of action? Get a good aftermarket radiator, or a Nissan OEM radiator?

Re: TD42 Turbo Conversion Project
Water temps!!! So yes, as mentions I could see on the Madman that the water temps does not reflect the very good tune and all the effort that we put in to make sure the engine runs as cool as possible. We changed the following on the cooling system up to this point. 1. All the radiator hoses and hea...

Re: TD42 Turbo Conversion Project
Pictures does not reflect how nice this build came out. Its just one of those conversions where it ended up looking better that you hoped it would. Dit longish trip last week and the car runs so well! Power is very good and the tune is just about as perfect as one can get it. We only ran into one pr...

Re: TD42 Turbo Conversion Project
So on this build the client requested we give the engine bay a very "normal" no bling kind of a look........ nothing too outrageous or flashy. So we decided to powder coat all the pipes and the air box in a satin black finish. Must say it goes really well with the colour of the vehicle. He...

Re: TD42 Turbo Conversion Project
So the boost system is probably the area where the most time is spent. It really takes a LOT of time as every needs to go exactly where I want it to go. Its like building a puzzle with puzzle pieces that you need to build as well and no picture on the box to show you how it should look. It can be ve...

Re: TD42 Turbo Conversion Project
Ok, I finally have a chance to wrap up the post. Been so busy this last couple of weeks I can barely keep up with anything. So lets talk exhaust systems quick. Not too much to say about it besides the standard systems on the TD42 is not much short of useless for a turbo application. So I have Viper ...

Re: Limp mode after replacing throttle body
The main difference I think is updates. With the Thinkdiag its a legit company who gives you free updates on all vehicles for 1 year, the other cheap units might not have full functionality

Re: Limp mode after replacing throttle body
You can get really good ones for cheap these days. Look on takealot, there is a unit called "Thinkdiag" which you can pick up for under 3k and it does exactly what a 20k Launch does. I have been using it for more than a year and it works on all cars plus its small enough to fit in your poc...

Re: Limp mode after replacing throttle body
Im no expert here, but I did learn a couple of things about the TB48 throttle body and transmission when we installed the Merc OM613 in the TB48. So the transmission and the throttle body works together and the ECU needs to communicate with both and everything needs to be within tolerance. We had ou...

Shell Remula R4X
Delo 400
Fuchs Titan Truck 15w40
Wolf 15w40
Any one of those will work fine, you don't have to change the oil viscosity as the engine ages. The TD42 dos not have a problem with oil........ it will be happy with anything really as long as you service it.
