Re: 35" tyres on a GU

Gary, on a 4.8 it will feel like more horses will be down the drain with 35's as the maximum power and torque is higher up the rev range where on the diesels its very low down. JP's got some serious power on his 4.8 turbo, so its not as noticable on his vehicle. Tommy Watkins had 35's on his 4.8 aut...

Re: Nissan Patrol 4.2D 1999 FOR SALE

Looks like a very neat Patrol!! Is this not maybe a import? The fact that it has LSD rather than diff lock, cruise control, no fender flares and the biscuit rims, sunroof and it has no lights in the rear bumper makes it sound allot like a spec we never had in SA. I dont think its a transplant, looks...

Re: Clutch slip

The TD42TI clutch kit for the turbo bakkies is the way forward. We are running that clutch on Attie's Td42 Patrol and it makes 180kw and 700Nm on the wheels with no slip.
And that's with an owner who really works the vehicle hard.

Re: My nearly new Patrol

Very nice Patrol Gareth and I'm sure by the looks of it there will be no surprises underneath the vehicle or under the bonnet. As mentioned by Tinus and Peter I can help you with what you are looking for. The CRD is the better 3.0 to have and with the Madman fitted we can do a very safe power upgrad...

Re: What engine is this

Thise factory turbo engines are probably the toughest version of the TD42 ever made. A compression test will give you the beat answer to the condition of the engine. I f you see silicone on the sump gaskit or ANY sign that the sump was ever off....... walk away, because that means someone had the he...

Re: My Patrollie Cyl Compression after 850 000 km

The compression is oustanding and I have recorded the same velues in many Patrols over 500,000km Just a question, did you record the reasings with the injector pump disconnected, or just with the glow plugs out? The manual states that one should disconnect the fuel solenoid wire of the pump so the c...

Ek sien uit!
Die voordeel is dat jou Patrol huidiglik op die operasie tafel is, so ek kan alles implementeer op jou Patrol wat ek doen op myne (indien dit werk)

Re: My GU 4.2 Turbo Diesel

Lets start with the lift pump test. Firstly, at the diesel shops they do the pump callibrations with a 0.2bar positive fuel supply and this is not something we have on the Patrols. Measuring the fuel line pressure just before the filter I saw a constant -0,2bar fuel pressure which might be something...
