Re: Recovery debate

You can apply the Kruger Dunning Effect to recoveries and it explains everything. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/46/Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_Effect_01.svg/1200px-Dunning%E2%80%93Kruger_Effect_01.svg.png When you know nothing, you have no skill and a lot of confidence. You basic...

Re: Parasitic drain, 4.8 GU

The 120A fuse is the alternator circuit and only has one off-take that runs to the ignition switch and runs the alternator light. Not a lot that can cause drain in that circuit. Unless that wire was used accidentally as a + ignition wire and an accessory is drawing power on it. I suspect the problem...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks

What I've noticed with my setup is that the standard controls still apply with the upgraded tanks ie the pumping from the aux tank automatically stops when the main tank is full. In fact if I try and activate the pump to pump from auxiliary to main when the main ...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks

The auxiliary transfer function can be "automatic" by pressing the transfer button it will only transfer from auxiliary to main when the main is about a 1/3 and fills main to about 80%. If you just had a larger auxiliary put in you may risk overflowing the main!! Something to keep in mind. The large...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks

Just looking at the pictures and I am impressed. Look at how the brackets are welded on!! and all the little gussets on every stress point. I see the pump flange is "submerged" when the tank is at full capacity. I see in some places the breather is lower than the high points... I bet you will have t...

Re: Dull Headlight Lenses

Or have them polished to crystal clear and get a clear plastic film applied. CPP films like the 3M products. It is also "shock" adsorbent so will protect your headlights from cracks to a certain extent. I have one of my cars protected and it is amazing stuff. I had a piece of 2cm gravel that came of...

Re: Browne Davis Long Range Fuel Tanks

Another problem with local is they would not have been tested on the patrols with us been rare  I am also not prepared to stuff around with fuel tanks... I can image that sinking feeling when you have fuel leaking out a crack in your tank when in the Marienfluss valley... The other alternativ...
